Information For a Vierra Miniature Australian Shepherd
Buyer Requirements:
We ask that all potential buyers do research
on the miniature Australian Shepherd breed. Miniature Aussies are herding dogs and thus are usually very high energy
dogs that very likely will try to herd you, too. Aussies are also very personable and are much happier when with their
human families versus by themselves, i.e. may be destructive if left alone for long periods of time. Aussies love to
be outdoors and do very well living outside in most weather. However, especially if you live in town, it is best to
have a fenced-in yard to keep your puppy safe.
The first year of puppy's life will be full
of lots of firsts, such as crate training, teething, and obedience training. Training your puppy takes a lot of time,
energy, and patience. Aussies are great at agility and may be able to jump a 4 to 5-foot high fence. Aussies
will need lots of exercise.
Age:
Most puppies will be ready to go to
their "forever homes" by the age of 8 weeks. However, this is done on an individual basis and some pups may not
be ready to leave until 10-12 weeks of age.
Vaccinations and
Health Guarantee:
All puppies will have had their
first set of vaccinations and have been wormed at least 3 times. A copy of their vaccinations will be sent with puppy
for your and your vetrinarian's records. Puppies will be guaranteed from genetic defects for 1 year and that may be
extended to 2 years with proof of spay/neuter of your puppy. Puppies will also be guaranteed to be free from puppy diseases
the week after delivery and require a vetrinarian's written proof of illness.
Contracts/Agreements:
All potential buyers must fill out the application. Puppies may be sold with a limited spay/neuter contract with NAMASCUSA
and/or MASCA registration paperwork.
Deposit:
To place a deposit on one of our puppies, you must fill out
our application form to be preapproved. We are choosey with our puppies as they are an extension of our family.
If you are preapproved, we require 50% down payment on choice of puppy and the remaining 50% plus any shipping fees must be
paid by the time puppy is 7 weeks old. Payments are ONLY accepted via Pay
Pal (credit cards via Pay Pal are accepted) or U.S. Postal Money Order (if
you would prefer mailing payments). We WILL NOT ACCEPT personal checks or bank money
orders/cashier's checks.
No monies are refundable in whole or in part after
paying a deposit. If something would happen and you no longer want the puppy chosen, deposits may be applied to later
puppies but WILL NOT be refunded. If something happens to pick puppy before delivery, monies again
will not be refunded, and breeder reserves the right to chose a replacement puppy of equal or better quality out of the next
available litter.
Deposits
on puppies are taken as a first approved and first paid basis.
No puppy will
be held without a deposit longer than 72 hours allowing for payment via Pay Pal or mail.
We DO NOT breed for eye color and
there are no guarantees on eye color of any puppy, however, several of our dogs do carry the blue-eye tri recessive
gene. Also we WILL NOT guarantee height of full grown dog. Our adult dogs range from 14 inches tall to 18 inches,
and majority of puppies will be within that height range. However, genetics determines height, not breeder.
Tails:
I have been asked in the past to leave tails on puppies. I do normally
dock my puppy tails as called for in breed standard but will leave a tail on for a family if asked. I require that a
puppy with a tail have a deposit on it by 2 weeks of age, so puppy must be chosen around 1 week of age. There are advantages
to leaving tails on puppies, especially if prospective families are looking at a possible agility career. Please note
that a puppy with a tail will not be able to compete in conformation shows at this time.
Shipping:
We will ship puppies
anywhere within the continental U.S. and in certain cases will work with a potential buyer on shipping outside of U.S.
Puppies
CANNOT be shipped until 8 weeks of age.
Payment
for flight and insurance, shipping crate, and certified health certificate must be paid IN FULL
before shipment of any puppy.
All applicable contracts must be signed and
in order prior to departure date as well.
Standard shipping runs 350.00 to include flight with Northwest, health certificate, and crate

of age within the continental U.S. Shipping via cabin usually runs 350-450 round trip depending on destination

also and charge 0.45/mile round trip.
